The Rainbow Bridge

In Loving Memory of "Cody"
9/15/1990 - 7/30/2002

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush, green grass.

When your beloved pet dies, it goes to this place, where there is always tasty, healthy food to eat, cool fresh spring water to drink, and the weather is always like a beautiful spring day. The old and frail animals are young once again, those who died maimed are made whole again, and they all play together all day long.

However, there is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them very much on earth but had to be left behind. So each day they all run and play together until one day when your pet suddenly stops playing and looks up and stares off into the distance. The nose twitches. The ears stand up. The bright eyes are intent. The eager body begins to quiver.

Suddenly the joyful pet begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, the legs carrying the body faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when the two of you finally meet, you cling together in a joyous reunion. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands once again caress your pet's beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your dear companion, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then, almost simultaneously you and your pet both realize that the time has come: walking side by side, the two of you start across the Rainbow Bridge, entering together into heaven where you will never be apart again, loving each other and enjoying each other's company for all eternity.
